Easter

This Easter was way too much fun. As evidenced by the many pictures you are about to be subjected to. For some reason the pictures uploaded in reverse order, so you get to see our Easter Holiday backwards. My brother, Brandon, and his wife, Krissi, drove up from Raleigh to enjoy the weekend with us. Chris, Becca and Rachael had a great time playing with their cousins Lily and Thor.
All dressed for Church.
Nana sent Becca and Rachael matching Easter dresses in pink, and she sent Lily a matching yellow one. The girls looked so cute all dressed up together. And of course Chris and Thor were quite handsome as well.

Easter Morning
The first look at the Easter baskets. This was Rachael's first real Easter. She didn't really know what was going on last year. She was so excited to get the plastic egg open and realize that there was a treat inside. She had that thing in her mouth in an instant!

Dying Easter Eggs

We had such beautiful weather this weekend. We took the kids to a local park to use up some of their boundless energy.

It's not a get together without some tickle time and rough housing.

Loosing Teeth?

This photo just cracks me up. Chris is getting new teeth. The only problem, he hasn't lost any baby teeth yet. So he just has a mouthful in there. The front two teeth are starting to get wiggly so hopefully any time now, the baby teeth will fall out and the permanant teeth can get to work, in their rightful spots.

Amazement Square

Mike's work had a family day at Amazement Square, a children's museum in Lynchburg. The kids had a blast running through the 4 floors of hands on displays.

They have a painting room. The kids take off their shoes and put on smocks and get to work painting the walls. The walls are clear so you can sit back and watch. The kids like us to put our heads on one side so they can paint funny faces on us.

In the music room Becca played songs while Chris jammed on the guitar

They have a table set up with hair dryer and ping pong balls. The kids try to use the hair dryer to lift the ball and get it through the hoop. After lots of trying, Chris finally got it.

Rachael's favorite room was full of large foam blocks. I made a bridge for her to crawl under but she preferred to roll over them.

More cake stuff

I had my final class for the Wilton 3 course. I am just loving all this cake decorating. On this last night we focused on making some new flowers and constructing our tiered cake.
This is my tiered cake. I like the way it turned out. It's covered in marshmallow fondant and the roses are a combination of marshmallow and store bought fondant. I had a crazy time trying to cut the dowel rods to secure the cake but I finally got and and thankfully nothing fell apart on the car ride home.

Here are some pictures of the different flowers I've been learning.

Mess!

I just had to share this photo of our messy little wonder. Last night I made fajitas for dinner, one of our favorite meals. Well it turns out that Rachael loves it just as much as the rest of us. She made such a mess eating the rice at dinner that she went straight from the highchair to the bathtub. While I was bathing Rachael, Mike cleared up the table and starting making some fajitas to take to work for lunch the next day. He was still making his lunch when I finished Rachael's bath and brought our now clean girl back downstairs. Within minutes she had wandered into the dining room, where Mike's newly finished, but not pack yet, fajitas were sitting on a plate on the table. Rachael, curious as ever, grabbed the plate wanting to know what was on top. The result, a plate full of fajita rice and shell falling on her newly cleaned head. She had rice everywhere, even in her ear. Thank goodness Mike hadn't topped them with salsa and sour cream yet or we would of really been in trouble. Needless to say we had to clean her all over again. And all she wanted to do was pick the rice off her face and shove it in her mouth.
