I originally thought of doing separate posts for random December news and Christmas pictures. But then I decided I was too lazy for that and just decided to lump in all into one massive post with pictures for all of December, Christmas, and New Year's.
We'll start this month's review with pictures of Melissa, because who can resist her?? We decided to start attempted solid foods. As evidenced in the photo, she's not a fan. So far we've tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots, and bananas. She doesn't really care about any of it and doesn't understand why we keep torturing her with a spoon. We're hopefully she figures it out soon.
Melissa normally finds a way to wiggle out of all blankets and wake up very cold. This is one day I found her still snuggled up when I went to peek at her.
As many of you are also experiencing, it's been a very cold winter. Our neighbor gave us this snowsuit that's just perfect for keeping her warm. And it's also just so cute!
Melissa likes to think that she can crawl. She'll get up on her knees, bounce around a little and then belly flop. We're worried that she's going to figure the real thing out soon, especially since her siblings keep demonstrating for her.

Christmas
We spent Christmas in Florida with my parents. We got out of town just as the first snowflakes were falling. It's a good think we left when we did. Our neighbors reported getting over a foot of snow and it taking all weekend to get snowplows through all the streets.

Rachael got this tea party set. Her and Aidan had so much fun with it. Everyday they set it out and Nana would give them little cookies to put on the plates.
The kids enjoyed spending lots of time outside on the bikes, and giving each other rides up and down the driveway.
After a long day of Christmas celebration these 2 were just exhausted.
One of our presents to the kids were tickets to Universal Theme Parks. Through out the week we drove to Orlando on 4 different days to enjoy the rides and attractions. They loved the carousel on Suessville, which was all decorated to look like Whoville from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

They are building a new Harry Potter section at Islands of Adventure. They had a lot of walls up covering the construction area, but we were able to see the spires of what we think will be Hogwarts Castle.
After a full day of playing at the park, all the kids fell asleep in the car as we drove back to Nana's house.
For the record, I really don't like Sponge Bob, but it's sort of a joke in the family so we had to get a picture.
The kids loved this roller coaster. Even Rachael was able to go on this one.

It's not a trip to FL without a dip in the pool. Well, into the hot tub, it was too cold to get in the pool, though that didn't stop Chris and Mike from jumping in anyway!

We took Chris's bike to FL so he could practice riding. Our driveway and neighborhood are on a hill which has made it difficult for Chris to practice. On the first day down we took off the training wheels, and by the time we left he was riding right along Dad.
Eating their gingerbread houses. After sitting on the counter for a week, they were pretty hard, but the kids wanted to eat them. So we let them have a taste, then we took them into the garage and let them smash them with the hammer.

After a wonderful and eventful vacation it was time to head home. 2 days of driving makes for some very tired children.
